We strip mattresses down by hand. The steel is melted down, the foam is used for carpet underlay, and the fabric is used for industrial fuel.

Single, double, and king mattresses have standard per-item rates. Cost shifts only when items are heavily soiled, wet, or infested — those must be bagged separately for incineration rather than the standard recycling line. Super-kings, bed bases, and bunk-bed frames add to the volume but are priced transparently per piece.

Council bulky-waste mattresses vs a licensed team

London councils run bulky-waste mattress collection schemes but the slots are heavily booked, especially in student and rental areas. The window is typically a whole morning or afternoon, items must be kerbside by 7am, and the price per mattress approaches what a same-day two-loader team charges for pickup plus proper recycling.

All mattresses we collect go through a dedicated textile reprocessing line where foam, springs, fibre, and the cover are separated — landfill is never the first route. You receive a written transfer note on completion, useful for landlords, agencies, and probate records.
